Our Last Holiday - Athens

In November, we went to Athens. It was nice to be in a warm place for a few days. We were a little concerned about arriving in Greece since there was no passport control. This could be because we were flying from an EU country, at least I hope so. We did pick up a book of Paul's journeys around Greece. We got to see a lot of ruins again. Here is the link to the pictures, Athens.

The Place we called Home

Here is one last look at the place we have called home over the last year and a half. It has been a beautiful place to live. God's creation has shown the use of some very beautiful colour throughout the year and a half we have lived in England. We will be coming back to Colorado for Christmas and returning home permanently at the end of January. Enjoy the pictures from our second home, England. Here is the link to the pictures, Harrogate.

Nice, Monte Carlo and Cannes

It was nice to go south again and get some warm weather. I found my dream home, my next birthday present, I wish, and saw racing cars. What else could you want?  I did not realize the beach in Nice had rocks instead of sand. We bought some great items from Nice. Next trip is to Athens in late November. Enjoy the pictures, here is the link,  Nice, Monte Carlo and Cannes

Rome

Here is the last trip we took. The rest of the time, we have been staying close to home. Jon, the car that you would love to have is in the pictures here.  As I stated in church this morning, it is hard to believe the Roman ruins are still there. Just another example of God revealing himself to us. Here is the link to the pictures, Rome.

Scotland

The week before we had to turn the car back in, Linda and I went up into Scotland. Our first stop was to Dean Castle in Kilmarnock, Scotland. This is a castle which was owned by the Boyd family for a while. This is Linda's ancestor. We also went over to Glasgow. While we were in Glasgow, we drove up to Stirling for Church. We were hoping to get to see Tristin Block, but they were not back over here from the States. Here is the link to the pictures, Scotland.

Zurich Switzerland

Hi, it has been crazy at work again, so I am a bit behind. The trip to Zurich was wonderful because I got to see my daughter. I have not seen her since last Christmas. We were also able to eat some of the best fajitas I have ever had. We were able to relax and get warm again. England is cool even in the summer. Enjoy the pictures!! Here is the link to the pictures, Zurich.

Cork, Ireland

Hello, I will be posting pictures of the next few days of our recent trips. Linda and I went to Cork Ireland. While in Cork, we went to Blarney Castle and Cobh. Cobh was the last port of call before the Titanic departed for America and sank. Cobh was called Queensland. Here is the link to the pictures from our trip, enjoy. Cork.

Cornwall England

To me, this has been the most beautiful place in England. But, I love the coast and water. Why do I live in Colorado, because of the sunny days which I long for. We saw an actual RAF helicopter rescue while we were touring around. If you rent a car, be sure and get the extra insurance. The roads are very narrow, allowing only one car to pass. Where do I go to let the car get around me or me around them? Oops, too close to the rock wall! Oh well, I have the extra insurance. Here are the beautiful pictures of the Cornwall area of England. Enjoy! Cornwall

Bath & Bristol England

A drive through the English countryside and Wales, what a sight. Bath was a very nice old city. Take a look at the pictures to see a very old building, must older than even our country. Bristol was having a festival while we were there. We were able to worship with the church in Bristol. Here are the pictures from Bath.

Castle Howard - York

Hello again. Notice the pictures this time in England, a sunny day, which we don't have many. Castle Howard is within an hour drive from our flat. It was a beautiful day to walk around outside in the beautiful gardens of Castle Howard. This would be a great place to have a wedding. Enjoy the pictures, Castle Howard.

Venice

What a different city! I am not used to seeing taxis in the water. It was very quiet and nice. Linda and I walked all over Venice, sitting next to the water watching all the boats go by. You have no need for a car, you need a boat. Venice wedding, yes, taken away in a Gandola. And the lime gelato, yummy! It helped to keep the hot days a little cooler. Here is the link to the pictures, Venice.

Geneva

Switzerland, what a beautiful country! The water in the lake is crystal clear, you can see the bottom and the fish swimming around. The Alps, wow! And the cheese, chocolate and food is very, very good. I am glad we always do a lot of walking. The Reformation Wall, United Nations, Red Cross headquarters and more. Many, many years ago, this was the first place I went to in Europe. Have you ever been to church, in French? I was on a campaign in Geneva back in 1976. The same missionary is in Geneva today, Doyle Kees. It was great to see the church has grown, over 100 strong. I was able to visit with his son, Mark but Doyle was out of town the weekend we were in Geneva. Here is the link to the pictures, Geneva.

Krakow

Hi, I am back. Things have been really busy at work. We are enjoying our very long days. The sun rises at around 3:30 am and the sun sets around 10:30 pm. This was the longest day. It is about 9:40 pm and the sun is just now going down. We have a new young couple with the HIM program from Oklahoma Christian start working with the Church here in Morley.

Our trip to Poland was wonderful. It did rain but we still enjoyed our stay. They have some great bread rolls. Try them if you go. You can get a roll on almost every corner. Here is the link to the pictures, Krakow.

Auschwitz

The next trip we took was to Krakow Poland. Krakow is near the concentration camps of Auschwitz. While in Krakow, Linda and I took a tour of two of the three camps of Auschwitz. This was a very humbling experience and a reminder of the bad things about our world. If someone tells you this did not happen, I will tell you otherwise. We have seen a lot of things showing the World War II era. Here is the link to the pictures, Auschwitz.

Salzburg

This is one of our favourite places in the world.  It is very beautiful with the Austrian Alps surrounding the city.  I love the city because the Sound of  Music was filmed in and around the city of Salzburg.  Here is a link to the pictures, Salzburg.

Pisa, Italy

Pisa can be a seen in an afternoon. The weather was not very nice here. We were rained on. But who can complain, we are in Europe.

Old Roman wall going around the city of Pisa. This was by the leaning tower of Pisa.

Florence, very nice

Hi, I am getting closer to getting caught up in our postings. This is a trip Linda and I took to Florence and Pisa Italy in early June. As you can seen the weather here was very nice. I love real Italian food.

This is a picture looking away from the city toward the mountains

This restaurant has the best bruschetta I have ever had. It was wonderful setting outside and taking in the scenes

What a view from Michaelanglo park above the city.

What a view from our hotel room. The hotel was a ways from the central part of the city.

Jersey - Channel Islands

Toward the end of May, Linda and I went to Jersey, not New Jersey but in the Channel between France and England. On this trip Linda and I bicycled from town in front of the bay across the island to the Light House. We rode our bikes for about four hours. The next day Linda and I went on an hour and half hike. Here are some of the pictures.

Paris in the Spring

Hi, here are some pictures from Paris in early May. Linda and I went to Paris for our wedding anniversary. We took a dinner cruise down the Seine river. It was very nice. In the very near future, I am going to being adding more pictures to Picasa for your viewing pleasure. Jessica recommended I upload a lot more pictures. I will post the location for your viewing shortly.

Springtime in Harrogate

Here is the beautiful springtime flowers we had the pleasure of seeing. First flowers blooming in the springtime were the crocuses. They were everywhere and the flowers were as think as a carpet. The purple and white was beautiful. Next came the daffodils. They were also everywhere. Then we saw the tulips and then the beautiful blooming trees. The Valley Gardens across from our flat have been beautiful.

Harewood House

Hi, back again, trying to catch up. Here is a place which is halfway between us and church. We pass by it all the time. They are always having events on their grounds. We finally went here when Linda's mom was here in April.

Amsterdam

We had a lot of fun taking Linda's Mom to see the sites of Amsterdam. It is a city of canals which I did not realize. If you are not aware, the house of Anne Frank is in Amsterdam.  We were able to go tour through their home.  It is amazing they lived in this home, their secret hiding place, for two years.  Here is some pictures of Amsterdam. Enjoy!

Keukenhof - Amsterdam

Hi, sorry it has been a while. Things have gotten very busy at work.  I am going to try to catch-up and stay up with things as we travel.  I am writing this to you as we wait for our flight in Jersey, the Channel Islands.   This trip to Amsterdam was taken in early April with Linda's mom who was with us the entire month.  While we were in Amsterdam, we visited with Karsten's parents.  I was going to be showing you pictures of the Keukenhof gardens outside Amsterdam and then I will share with you some Amsterdam pictures. Thanks for looking.  Have a great day.

The flowers are making a picture, what is it?
Color abounds!
We are in the Netherlands, here is our Windmill!
Just a very small sampling of all the flowers at Keukenhof Gardens.  It is only open a very short time every year.

Now what picture were the flowers making, the head of the Statue of Liberty.

Now for the British word. What is Monkey Nuts?  It is peanuts.

Prague In March

This is a very lovely city.  This was a very short trip.  We may go back with Jessica later this summer.  Linda will be glad to show you some of the jewelry we purchased and the new clock when we get home.  Here is your pictures of Prague.
