England Lake District

Here are yesterday's photos, September, 27th.  We took a drive from the flat to the lake district.  As we were driving around and following our SatNav, we decide to go to the western side of the lake. We got out an walked around.  We then continued to go to Windermere via the SatNav and it guided us to a ferry across the lake.  We got on the ferry with the car to the Eastern side of the lake.  I was not expecting to find the ferry.  Now for the word of the week, what does bespoke mean?
Here is the ferry coming to get us

Edinburgh

This past weekend, September 21st, Jessica and her friend Alicia visited us from the States. I took Friday off and we drove them to York and Edinburgh for the weekend. It took us about 4 hrs to drive to Edinburgh which some of it was by the coast.  While there we went on the Royal Yacht Britannia which is the decomissioned Yacht of the Queen.  It is the Yacht Princess Diana and Prince Charles took on their honeymoon.  Before I show you pictures, a wheelie bin is one of the big trash cans you take out to the curb at home.  Here are the pictures,

Harry Potter Fans

For all of you Harry Potter fans, here is a picture for you.

Buckingham Palace

Monday, September 15th, this past weekend, I went to some Sql Server training on Saturday in Hatfield close to London.  Linda went shopping.  While we were down there, we decide we were going on a tour of Buckingham Palace.  I was able to take some pictures of the Royal Mews and outside the palace in the Royal Garden.  This is the picture you see when they are standing on the balcony.  The Royal Mews is where all the horses, cars and carriages are kept.  I got a picture of the carriage which brought Princess Diana to her wedding.  After we toured the Royal Mews, we went through the Queens Gallery.  We could not take pictures in there.  It had a lot of pictures the kings and queens had gathered over the years. And last but not least, we got to tour the State Rooms in the Palace.  They also had the Ballroom completely outfitted like it would be when the Queen entertains the heads of State.  It was awesome.  Again, no pictures where allowed inside.  So, here are the pictures I was able to take.  Now for this week's word.  What is a wheelie bin?

Liverpool, UK

Hello, it is Monday, September 15th.  It is hard to believe we have been here almost two months.  Last week I was busy trying to catch up with all the financial things for myself and our church.  This week I am going to blog first and then do the other things I need to do.  The weekend before last, Linda and I went on the longest driving trip we have been on.  It was around two hours to Liverpool.  Now what famous band do you know started in Liverpool?  While you are thinking about that, I will let you know about a push chair.  You are more likely to have a push chair when you have been married for a few years, it is a baby stroller.  Now, what is that famous band, late 50's and early 60's.  Got it yet, the Beatles.  I am afraid, you will have to see us when we get back to see things we saw because pictures were not allowed.  We went through a musuem about the Beatles story in the morning and in the afternoon, we had booked a tour through the boyhood homes of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.  It was the homes where the Beatles began.  Yes, we went inside these homes, where they had practiced and wrote about 100 songs.  John lived at Mendips and Paul lived at 20 Forthlin Road.  This was very, very cool.  As we were leaving, we did go by the airport and take some pictures.  Here they are:

Flat Pictures

Just pictures of the flat,

Master Bedroom and master bathroom and yes it is very, very small, the bathtub is in there.
The very long hallway, our flat is the length of the building and the second bedroom.

The Kitchen and the living room which are in the same room along with the dining room

and a picture of our washer/dryer, yes I said both. It is Linda's favorite machine!!! Not really, it takes over 2 1/2 to 3 hours to do one small load of clothes.

All for now, have a good week.

We have Internet

Wednesday, September, 3rd. We finally got our Internet service in the flat last Thursday. I have been catching up with all the financial stuff for myself and the church over the last few days except last night. We booked some weekend trips. We are going to Dublin, Ireland on October 3rd and going to Pisa and Cinque Terra in Italy the weekend of October 10th. Also this last weekend, we booked a trip home for Christmas. We are leaving here on December 19th and returning December 28th. Since we last blogged, we did take our trip on a Steam Train to Scarborough. This past weekend we stayed around Harrogate, went to the Royal Pump House museum and went to an international dinner at church.

Now to our words, if I need to go to the bog, I need to go to the toilet. Bad huh!

The phrase to figure out this week is, if I was using a push chair, what would I be doing.

Here are the pictures,
